Case Study
Stanford Bridge Farm – Civils Work
The fire at Stanford Bridge Farm in November 2019 saw the destruction of three cattle buildings. FGS Pilcher undertook construction work to rebuild the barns to ensure the safe housing of the cattle over winter.
The construction works included:
- The refurbishment of one cattle building that did not need a completely new structure
- Construction of two new cattle buildings, including design and erection of the internal gates and feed barriers.
- Installation of an underfloor heating system to extract heat from the floor beneath the cattle bedding. The heated water will be used within future projects at SBF.
- Construction of a new silage clamp for winter feed to be stored.
