Case Study
Boys Hall Car Park Upgrade
Car Park Upgrade & Surfacing, Ashford, Kent

Background
Boys Hall is a prestigious restaurant and hotel in Ashford, where presentation, access, and guest experience are paramount. To maintain these standards, an upgrade to the existing car park was required, with works needing to be completed within an extremely tight operational window.
The Brief
FGS Pilcher was appointed to carry out a full car park upgrade within a four-day window, starting immediately after the last hotel guest departed at 11am on Monday 26th January. All works had to be completed and the site fully operational in time for the restaurant reopening at 11.30am on Friday 30th January.
The Challenge
The programme allowed no flexibility. The scope of works was substantial and included:
- Removal of ragstone slurry and unsuitable stone across the car park
- Installation of 90 metres of new kerbing
- Construction and tarmacking of a 220m² section of new roadway
- Upgrading the remaining car park with hard-wearing granite stone
All works had to be delivered while contending with challenging winter weather, increasing both complexity and pressure on the programme.
The Outcome
Despite long days and difficult conditions, the FGS Pilcher team delivered the project to a high standard, completing all works on time and vacating site by 11.30am on Friday – exactly as required.
The upgraded car park now provides a durable, high-quality finish in keeping with the stunning setting of Boys Hall, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for guests and visitors.
